The right steel pipe elbow for your pipe connections
Are you looking for steel pipe elbows with dimensions in multiple dimensions or different radii? Then you have come to the right place. We provide you with a number of external diameters in the variants Type 3D and Type 2D as well as Type 5D. You are probably already familiar with the division into types 3S, 2S and 5S from the previous standard DIN2605 for “Fittings for welding - pipe bends”.

We stock our products in accordance with the applicable, harmonized standards EN10253-1 and EN10253-2. You can choose from us the standardized pipe bends in a variety of sizes and angles. Stock up on all the items you need for your needs. With us you will discover steel grades from at least S235 or P235GH to P265GH up to P355NH. The European standard EN10253-2 stipulates that fittings and pipe bends with a thickness of 3 mm or more must have weld seam preparation. This means the welding process can begin immediately. You can rely on this quality with our products!

Quick selection for craftsmen and plant engineers – find the pipe bend you are looking for with just a few clicks
Are you looking for one or more specific steel pipe bends? Then intuitively click through the respective desired category. Are you surprised at how many models we have to choose from? That's why the filters help you with your search. You can select several properties and make your settings:

ASME B16.9 and ANSI B16.9 — what does that mean?
We supply you with steel pipe elbows for applications in accordance with the ASME B16.9 and ANSI B16.9 standards. They are available in the Long Radius (LR) and Short Radius (SR). The materials used are ASME SA234 WPB and ASTM A234 WPB. The 3D radius corresponds to the long radius, while the 2D radius covers the short radius design.
We will be happy to help you determine exactly which steel pipe bends are suitable for your purposes in terms of dimensions and material properties. We offer you a functional product comparison tool with a detailed item view. All welding elbows and pipe bends are compared transparently and directly. With the help of the product data sheets you will find all relevant information clearly arranged. Compare designs and look at the possible combinations of materials.

The Hamburg manufacturing process and other alternatives
Our steel pipe bends are predominantly manufactured using the so-called Hamburg bending process. For this process we need a curved mandrel. This has the geometry required for the corresponding pipe bend. Pipes with a usually smaller diameter are pressed over the mandrel in such a way that uniform pipe bends are created using a forming and expanding process.
The special thing about it is not only the curved mandrel, but also the careful pushing at the appropriate working temperature, which together produce a uniform end result. This particularly includes uniform wall thickness of the fittings and pipe bends.
Depending on the product, other manufacturing processes can also be used. The die pressing process should be mentioned here, but it plays a subordinate role compared to the Hamburg process. To ensure that the end result corresponds to the desired quality, the starting material for the forming process is crucial. The following pipes can be used for production:
seamless round tubes
tested, welded pipes
Note: You can recognize fittings and round pipes made from welded pipes by the additional “W” in the material designation, which stands for “welded”.

Special requests for your steel pipe elbows and fittings
In addition to pipe bends with 30, 60 and 180 degrees, one of our strengths is the stocking of 45 degree pipe bends. If you need an unusual angle for your projects, please contact us. We will give you prompt feedback on how we can realize your ideas.

We are occasionally asked whether our pipe bends can undergo a specific inspection by certified testing companies. This is possible in principle because all of our pipe bends come from approved manufacturers. We will check for you which pipe bends can undergo the external approval process. It is possible to request the following variants and acceptances:
TÜV (North, South)
Lloyd's Register
Det Norske Veritas (DNV)
American Bureau of Shipping (ABS)
Registro Italiano Navale (RINA)

You have found the pipe bend you want in the overview, but you need an angle in a smaller or larger number of degrees.
Let us know your request via email to team@protubo.biz and you will receive an offer from us shortly afterwards. If you have any other questions, please contact us.

Do you need steel pipe elbows from IACS-approved manufacturers?

We will check this and let you know what is possible.

Do you expect a particularly clean surface?

We will then clarify for you to what extent we can offer fittings etc. with a surface cleanliness according to your requirements. For example, we deliver sandblasted items with a purity of SA2.5 my.

We look forward to your message and answer all your questions. If needed, we will be happy to send you information about special requests and suitable offers if you have specific requirements.
